we went to dinner before 4pm and my wife paid with her debit card she was alerted this morning by her bank a second charge was added to her card. she copied the alert and I have the receipt with 1 charge.

I called the sweet tomatoes, waited on hold for 10 minutes for a manager named Mary.

Mary said she would look into the matter, According to the record my wife's bank sent there was a charge for $24.60 and then a second charge for $20.50 I'm not impressed with how this was handled and I will be calling corporate and possibly my attorney. this is not good business

Ah, the hazards of using a debit card instead of a credit card or cash. You can dispute the charge, of course, but the money is already gone and you have to now rely on either the restaurant or the bank to recover the lost money. Good luck.
